2017 tax rate remains stable for Lowhill Twp residents

Lowhill Township supervisors met Nov. 2 for their final budget workshop.

“We are spending less than we are taking in so our millage will stay the same,” said Supervisor Chairman Richard Hughes. “That’s a good thing.”

Current township assets amount to $1,892,620.

Expected revenue for 2017 was calculated at $899,851 with estimated total expenditures at $899,015, for a total 2017 budget of $1,893,456.

The millage rate will remain at 0.66425 mills. Property tax has not been raised in the township since the mid 1970s, according to township Secretary Jill Seymour.

The budget is set for public advertising and a vote to approve the final budget will take place Dec. 1st at the supervisors’ meeting.
