Every month, the career and technical education instructors at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute (LCTI) recognize two students - one each from their morning and afternoon sessions - for outstanding effort, improvement, achievement or leadership in their respective programs.
Below are September honorees from Whitehall High School.
Morning session:
Heating/air conditioning and refrigeration: Henry Zelaya
Drafting/computer aided design: Austin Brown
Emerging health professionals: Jaida Marks
Computer and networking technology: Pandora Sanders
Criminal justice: Ferdinad Tirado
Dental technology: Martini Collazo
Afternoon session:
Heating/air conditioning and refrigeration: Xavier Melendez
Dental technology: Marlen Belman
In addition, recently, LCTI welcomed the 2016-17 lineup of SkillsUSA officers. The students were recognized at pinning ceremonies Oct. 14 during morning and afternoon sessions.
The morning session officers from Whitehall High School are Jessy Saavedra, recorder, sophomore, dental technology; and Matthew Gunkle, treasurer, junior, criminal justice.
The afternoon session officer is Sam Kennerly, parliamentarian, WHS senior, culinary arts.
