District champions were crowned in soccer and volleyball Thursday.

Four Lehigh Valley Press area teams repeated as district champs, including Northwestern and Emmaus in boys soccer, Parkland in girls soccer and volleyball. All four will return to action Tuesday in PIAA playoff tournaments.

BOYS SOCCER

Class 4A

Emmaus-Parkland

The Hornets beat Parkland 1-0 (4-2) in penalty kicks.

The two teams tied in both regular season meetings and 110 minutes wasn’t enough to separate them in Thursday’s District 11 title game at J. Birney Crum Stadium.

Kacper Grycel, Noah Bacon, Stefan Zarkov and Dakota Bauer, whose shot clinched the win for the No. 5 seed Hornets (12-6-4).

Hornet goal keeper Dyal Sosnow stopped two of Parkland’s four attempts and made six saves in the game.

Jacob Varrato saves six shots for No. 3 seed Parkland (17-3-2).

Dawson Berger and Kishan Modessa scored Parkland’s PKs.

Class 3A

Central Catholic-Northwestern

The Tigers’ Kenny Gawelko scored with 1:43 left in regulation to lift the Colonial League champs to a 1-0 win in Thursday’s district title game at Emmaus High School.

Northwestern senior Dominic Mertz assisted on the goal.

The Tigers improve to 21-0-1 with the win over the No. 3 seed Vikings.

GIRLS SOCCER

Class 4A

Stroudsburg-Parkland

The Trojans took a 3-0 lead en rout to a 3-1 win over the Mounties.

Rachel Medlar scored a pair of goals for top-seeded Parkland (24-0) and teammate Emily Piston got the other. Michaela Cohick had the game’s only assist.

Emily Banashefski scored for the No. 2 seed Mountaineers.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Class 3A

Parkland-Liberty

The top-seeded Trojans beat the No. 2 seed Hurricanes 3-2 (15-25, 25-21, 20-25, 26-24, 15-9) for their third consecutive district title.
