No tax increase for Lynn Twp residents

Lynn Township supervisors have reported they drafted a conservative budget for next year and will not have any tax increase.

The first budget meeting was held Sept. 28.

Lynnport Fire Company had two calls in September, according to Fire Chief Clark Mantz.

Lynnport, New Tripoli and Weisenberg fire companies will be at the next Northwestern High School home football game seeking to recruit new members.

Mantz also reported they will be in New Tripoli for Trick-or-Treat Night 6-8 p.m. Oct. 29.

The turkey raffle will be Nov. 18 and the 2000 Club will start on Jan. 27, 2017.

New Tripoli Fire Company answered 126 calls up until Oct. 8.

That fire company’s turkey drawing will be Nov. 19.

The road report, given by Bruce Raber, told the board the crew repaired several stormwater boxes, fixed potholes, regraded the dirt roads, paved some shoulders and got the equipment ready for winter.

Plans for this month include cleaning out all storm boxes, mowing shoulders and removing some trees in Ontelaunee Park.

Cindy Jones requested the board allow her to have a car show in Ontelaunee Park next July.

Benefits from the show will be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Supervisors will see what dates are available, what fees, if any, and review Jones’ insurance certificate.

Chris Noll reported he should have information on the proposed driveway at the park in a few weeks.

This driveway would access Allemaengel Road with both right and left turns allowed.

Residents of Lynn and Heidelberg townships will receive a mailing requesting information to update the emergency management plan. Census information will also be requested.

Noll had a question concerning a location for a beauty salon.

The proposal would place it in the I-C District (Industrial-Commercial) where beauty salons are not allowed.

Supervisors agreed to have the ordinance amended.

Solicitor Mark Fisher will draft an ordinance and submit it to the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission and to the township planning commission for their review.

The mini cell tower ordinance which Weisenberg Township is discussing will be reviewed by the supervisors also.

Supervisor Steve Feinour would like an amendment to the sign regulations which would set up a ratio between road frontage and the number of signs permitted.
