Have you heard there is a group of residents working at resurrecting the Knauss Homestead Preservation Society?
The group has met several times and invites the public to become members. Membership fees will help sustain this Emmaus treasure.
For 158 years, the Knauss House, located at the rear of 164 East Main St., sheltered the descendants of Sebastian Heinrich Knauss, one of the founders of Emaus. It later was owned by the Marcks family and in 1992 the property was acquired by the borough of Emmaus.
The Homestead is listed on the National Registry of Historical Landmarks. Emmaus is so fortunate to have so many historical sites within its borders. Please plan to get involved in helping to preserve the Knauss Homestead.
For information, visit www.knausshaus.org or Knauss Homestead Preservation Society, P.O. 714, Emmaus.
