The penultimate week of the regular season saw some teams position themselves for the upcoming district football playoff tournaments.

Freedom-Bethlehem Catholic
Freedom used a fast start to propel the Patriots to a huge 42-21 victory over Bethlehem Catholic Friday night. The Pates jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first half and never looked back behind the legs of Dashaun Peterson, who opened the contest with a 46 yard TD run on the first play from scrimmage. Peterson finished with 161 yards rushing and three touchdowns.
Quarterback Joe Young threw for 108 yards and two touchdowns, adding 45 yards on the ground and another score to give the Patriots momentum heading into their regular season finale against Liberty (5-4), who lost to Nazareth 47-7 Friday night.
A Freedom (5-4) win next Saturday afternoon would give them the City title outright.
Becahi (7-2) faces Central Catholic (8-1) with home playoff seedings on the line.
Emmaus-Easton
The Hornets beat the Red Rovers 17-6.
Emmaus’ Lubens Myers and Sone Ntoh each ran for a touchdown. Teammate Carson Landis booted a 41-yard field goal.
The Hornet defense forced a pair of turnovers and held Easton’s offense to just 205 yards in the game.
Myers (25 carries, 131 yards) and Ntoh (11 carries, 145 yards) out-gained Easton (4-5) by a wide margin.
Emmaus (8-1) hosts Parkland next week. A Hornet win would clinch the top seed for the District 11 Class 6A playoffs.
Parkland-Northampton
The Trojans beat the Konkrete Kids 42-0.
Parkland (7-2) takes on Emmaus next week. Northampton (0-9) will face Whitehall.
Liberty-Nazareth
The Blue Eagles beat the Hurricanes 47-7.
Liberty (5-4) takes on Freedom Saturday in both team’s regular season finale.
Whitehall-Stroudsburg
The Zephyrs beat the Mountaineers 29-7.
Zach Gilbert passed for a pair of touchdowns and Whitehall (5-4), while Tavion George (12 carries, 97 yards) and Desmond Boykin both ran for scores. Jacob Snyder caught both touchdowns passes.
Jamaal Brome ran for 95 yards on 26 carries for Stroudsburg (6-3).
Northern Lehigh-Northwestern
The Bulldogs came back from a 14-0 first-quarter deficit to beat the Tigers 21-14.
Ty Cunningham scored both of Northwestern’s early touchdowns.
The Bulldogs (4-5) got rushing touchdowns from Mason Seiler and Cameron Kline, along with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Tekoah Guedes to Austin Hemingway.
Cunningham finished with 102 rushing yards on 14 carries as the Tigers drop to 4-5 with next week’s season finale against Catty remaining.
Catasauqua-Southern Lehigh
The Rough Riders fell being 35-0 en route to a 42-7 loss to the Spartans.
Like Strauss scored three touchdowns for Southern Lehigh (7-2).
Miguel Hernandez caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Brett for Catasauqua (2-7) in the fourth quarter.
Salisbury-Palmerton
The Blue Bombers beat the Falcons 47-14.
Palmerton (4-5) jumped out to a 19-0 lead and was ahead 41-7 before Lucas Irwins’ 6-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
The Blue Bombers saw five different players get into the end zone, with Garret Perschy running for two touchdowns and throwing for three more. He threw for 234 yards, going 14-for-22 with no interceptions.
Eric Frankenfield (102 yards on 21 carries) scored on a 3-yard run in the second quarter for Salisbury (2-7).
