Lehigh Carbon Community College has joined the Pennsylvania State Police and Lehigh County to offer a four-week course focusing on the dangers of heroin.
Each course addresses a different topic, so attendance at each session is encouraged.
The first session, scheduled Oct. 25, will focus on families and individuals who have been impacted by heroin addiction.
During the second session, scheduled Nov. 2, scientists will explain about heroin’s cultivation process and other synthetic drugs.
The third session, scheduled Nov. 9, will focus on enforcement through different agencies, such as the Pennsylvania State Police, the District Attorney’s office, Lehigh County Probation and Lehigh County Coroner.
The final session, scheduled Nov. 16, will cover treatment options provided by local heroin recovery centers and the contact information available to addicts seeking places to get help.
Sessions will be held at the Scheller-Woodman Community Services Center 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the main campus in Schnecksville.
These events are free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Pennsylvania State Police at 610-807-3379.
