Jim Thorpe-Northwestern

Jim Thorpe rallied for a 25-23, 14-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-7 non-league win over Northwestern.

Kelsey Carroll had 11 digs and 17 assists for the Olympians.

Jim Thorpe won the JV match, 2-0.

FIELD HOCKEY

Northwestern-Palisades

Courtney Page’s goal in overtime gave Northwestern a 1-0 win over Palisades 1-0 in Colonial League play.

Taylor Page made nine saves for the Tigers to preserve the shutout.

CROSS COUNTRY

Whitehall, Allen, Dieruff, Parkland, Central Catholic-Emmaus

Parkland’s Sam Morgan and Emmaus’ Abby Dalton took first place in the final regular season Eastern Pennsylvania Conference cross country meet.

The Trojans took the top five spots in the boys race, with Hailemichael Geiger, Steven Kaleycik, Nicholas Bower and Riley Williamson coming in right behind Morgan.

The Parkland boys swept the meet to stay undefeated (17-0) on the season, beating Emmaus 15-48 and Dieruff 15-49, while defeating Whitehall, Allen and Central Catholic by 15-50 scores.

Emmaus’ Del Vierling finished sixth, just behind the Parkland pack and in front of the Trojans’ Jacob Ringer in seventh place.

Following Vierling for the Hornets (13-4) were Jake Brown, Mason Brown, Charlie Norellis and Jon Csensits. The Hornets beat Whitehall (15-50), Central Catholic (27-28), Allen (15-50) and Dieruff (19-44), while losing to Parkland.

Whitehall boys came away with wins over Allen (20-38) and Dieruff (22-35), but the Zephyrs (6-11) lost to Central Catholic (15-47), Emmaus and Parkland.

In the girls race, Parkland’s Sydney DelVecchio finished second for the Trojans, which swept their five opponents to finish the season at 14-3.

Following DelVecchio were teamamtes Madison Zaun (7th), Erin Wood (8th), Kiley Krasley (12th) and Morgan Glenn. Parkland beat Emmaus (25-30), Central Catholic (23-32), Whitehall (25-31), Allen (15-50) and Dieruff (15-50).

Whitehall’s girls team went 4-1 at the meet to finish 13-4 this season. Autumn Dragovits and Devn Roberts finished fifth and sixth, respectively, while teammates Juanita Flores (9th), Rachel Herr (15th) and Hanna Grill (21st) were not far behind. The Zephs beat Emmaus (27-78), Central Catholic (26-69), Dieruff (15-50) and Allen (15-50).

Emmaus lost to Central Catholic (26-69), Whitehall and Parkland, but beat Dieruff (15-50) and Allen (15-50) to finish the season at 9-8. Behind Dalton were teammates Abby Heilenman (6th), Emma Keighlty (13th), Amber Ziegler (18th) and Amanda Lavana (19th).

Northampton, Nazareth, Freedom, LIberty-Bethlehem Catholic

The Northampton boys cross country team went 4-1 in its final regular season meet with wins against Nazareth (21-34), Freedom (27-29), Liberty (25-30), and Becahi (20-35). The Northampton boys finished the season with a 11-6 record. Isaac N’Jenga led the Kids with a third-place finish, followed by Vince Gallagher (8th), Isaiah Tyler (9th), Nick Bodnar (24th) and Evan Gillette (36th).

The Northampton girls wrapped up their season with six total victories. Lyndsey Gallagher finished third overall in the season finale, followed by teammates Beth Albright (23rd), Hannah Flaven (38th), Olivia Rigo (39th) and Aubrey Bealer (40th).

No. Lehigh, Palmerton, Moravian, Notre Dame, Palisades, Saucon Valley, Northwestern

Northwestern combined to go 7-1 in a seven-team Colonial League meet on Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers recorded a sweep, while the boys finished at 3-1.

The Northern Lehigh boys and Palmerton boys walked away winless, while the Bulldog girls earned a 15-50 win over Moravian Academy.

Northwestern’s Molly Tarvin, Madeline Consuelos and Hannah Herzon finished 1-2-3 in the girls race. Alison Lorah finished 10th for Northern Lehigh.

Robert Leiser and Phillip Castrine finished third and fifth for the Tigers in the boys competition. Palmerton’s Jake Martinez took 12th, while Nolehi’s Preston Kemery was 20th.

Southern Lehigh, Bangor, Salisbury, Wilson-Catasauqua

The Rough Riders and Falcons capped the Colonial League regular season Tuesday.

In the boys race, Salisbury’s Shane Artis finished 13th, followed by teammates Michael Sosnowski (36th), Cole Warmkessel (44th), Bryce Kimmey (47th) and

Logan Vitalos (55th).

Catty boys were led by Jordy Leon (46th), followed by Henry Sebastian (52nd), Bradshaw Henning (53rd), Jason Schneck (57th) and Alec Hartranft (68th).

In the girls race Salisbury’s Brooke Rogers finished 16th overall, followed by teammate Casey Laudadio (45th).

Catty girls were led by Katherine Verenna (34th), Bree Sheldon (36th), Bethanie DeLucia (37th), Alexis Sheldon (42nd) and Makena Webber (43rd).

FIELD HOCKEY

Northwestern-Catasauqua

Northwestern blanked Catasauqua, 8-0, in Colonial League action.

The Tigers’ Courtney Page recorded a goal and six assists.

Rachel Koerner and Jordan Nielson both added two goals for the Tigers, while Allison Costa chipped in with a goal and an assist. Danielle Schmidt and Allyson Meyers finished with single tallies.

Salisbury-Southern Lehigh

The Spartans beat the Falcons 9-0.

Nazareth-Emmaus

The Hornets beat the Blue Eagles 10-0.

Kayla Kisthardt had four goals and one assist in the game. Meredith Sholder had three goals and two assists in the game. Kira Koeler scored three goals, while Madalyn Dorn and Brittany Morgan each picked up an assist.

GIRLS TENNIS

Parkland-Nazareth

The Trojans beat the Blue Eagles in a District 11 Class 3A team tournament match.

Parkland’s Patricia Yao (No. 1 singles), Anna Li (No. 3 singles) and the doubles team of Joanna Wu and Jess Marks picked up wins for their team, which advanced to face top-seeded Easton in the district title match.

Salisbury-Bethlehem Catholic.

The top-seeded Golden Hawks shut out the Falcons 5-0.

Brenna Magliochetti, Molly Ehrig and Brooke Adams swept the three singles spots, while doubles pairs Maureen Mazza and Gabby Duffy, along with Allie Palmisano and Tess Shuler won their matches.

GIRLS SOCCER

Northampton-Parkland

The Trojans remained undefeated with a 2-0 win over the Konkrete Kids.

Parkland Becca Ventrura and Rachel Laird scored goals, while Devyn Anderson and Ventura picked up assists.

The Trojans out-shot Northampton 10-2 at Mikayla Davidson picked up eight assists for the Kids.

Freedom-Bethlehem Catholic

The Patriots beat the Hawks 6-1.

Doris Muncan scored three goals for Freedom, while teammates Mary Bogliolo, Briana Vera and Amber Buck added a goal each. Pates keeper Tara Hathaway made nine saves.

For Bethlehem Catholic, Brooke Bisko scored her team’s only goal, assisted by Aishlin Armstrong. Beca keeper Kiera Peterson made 16 saves.

Cantral Catholic-Whitehall

The Zephyrs beat the Vikettes 4-3.

Kate Bonchak scored a pair of goals, while Cara Bonshak and Kylle Cunningham scored one each for Whitehall.

Dieruff-Liberty

The Hurricanes beat the Huskies 12-0 with 11 different players scoring goals.

Merve Okumus (2), Olivia Askerneese (2), Kathryn Wescoe, Jessica Del Corso, Julie Curti, Madison Muller, Hannah Greer, Jame Ebersole, Sarah Krasue, and Carline Paul-Lastres all scored goals. Assists went to Curti (2) Del Corso, Wescoe (2), Greer (3) and Regan Gun.

Palmerton-Catasauqua

Catasauqua and Palmerton tied in a Colonial League match, 3-3.

Hanasia Jenkins scored her second goal of the game for the Roughies to tie it at 3-3 with six minutes remaining in regulation.

Johanna Matsko gave the Blue Bombers a 1-0 halftime lead. Natalie Matsko and Kennedy Malsch scored in the second half for Palmerton, which had a 37-20 advantage in shots.

Moravian Academy-Salisbury

The Falcons beat the Lions 5-0.

Salisbury goals were scored by Caylin Meikrantz, Kelly Gardus, Erica Holben and Cait Hoeing. Assists went to Gardus (3), Meikrantz and Joana Hatzis.

BOYS SOCCER Nazareth-Emmaus

The Hornets beat the Blue Eagles 3-0.

Emmaus goals were scored by Kacper Grycel (2) and Noah Bacon. Assists went to Evan Charlesworth and Dakota Bauer.

Parkland-Northampton

The Trojans beat the Konkrete Kids 2-1.

Parkland goals were scored by Josh Kiser and Bryce Evans, with assists from Conley Hochstetler and Owen Iacobelli.

Northampton’s goal was scored by Jacob Auger with an assist from Cameron Peploe.

Goal keeper Morgan Heffelfinger made five saves for the Kids, while the Trojans’ Jacob Varrato stopped four shots.

Whitehall-Central Catholic

The Vikings beat the Zephyrs 3-2 in overtime.

Fin McMullen scored all three Central Catholic goals with Cris Alvares picking up an assist.

Dieruff-Liberty

The Hurricanes beat the Huskies 11-0.

Liberty goals were scored by Valentin Perevalov (3), Ricardo Carmaco (3), Miguel Sosa (2), Wilmer Aleman, Omar Worrrell and Xander Kang. Assists went to Trevor Koski (4), Evan Larimer, Omar Worrell, Valentin Perevalov, Angel Villeda, Peter Schleicher and Ricardo Carcamo.

Catasauqua-Palmerton

The Blue Bombers beat the Rough Riders 2-1.

Grant Gebhardt scored Catty’s only goal, while Roughie keeper Luke Cryer stopped 12 shots.

Palmerton goals were scored by Nate Taylor and Bryce Beahm.

Salisbury-Moravian Academy

The Falcons beat the Lions 5-0.

Salisbury goals were scored by Ethan Heydt (2), Mason Groff, Sebastian Buckley.
