Members of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics Lodge 204, the Knights of the Golden Eagle Lodge 379 and Central Grange 1650, Germansville, recently gathered at the New Tripoli Fire Co. to present checks for membership in both the Lynn-Heidelberg and Weisenberg-Lowhill historical societies.

The Junior Order of United American Mechanics and Knights of the Golden Eagle, two patriotic fraternal organizations, have been meeting every month for more than 100 years promoting citizenship, liberty and patriotism.

Members of these lodges are five to six generations old. They, along with new members, promote the goal of building character, integrity and community loyalty.

According to information provided by member Carl Breininger, both groups have donated substantial amounts of money, time and support to the community, including to the New Tripoli and Germansville fire companies, Northwestern Youth Athletic Association, National Wild Turkey Foundation’s JAKES Youth Field Days, Heidelberg Game Association, Boy Scout Eagle projects, Northwestern Lehigh School District scoreboards, Northwestern Recreation Commission, Ontelaunee Park and the Leaser Lake Heritage Foundation, to mention a few.
