Morgenland Church accepting homemade candy orders
Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, is accepting orders until Nov. 6 for its annual candy sale.
Pick up will be 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 3.
Choose from either light or dark peanut clusters, raisin clusters, cashew patties, peanut butter, coconut crème, or molasses coconut eggs, caramels, light covered pretzels, dark chocolate crème filled peanut roll eggs and more.

The church will have its annual spaghetti dinner 4-7 p.m. Nov. 5.
Menu includes spaghetti with homemade meatballs, salad, Italian or garlic bread, beverages and homemade desserts. Walk-ins are welcome.
There will be a basket raffle and homemade cherry crumb pies and apple dumplings will be available for purchase.

Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, is hosting a Painting Pals for Kids penguin pals painting event for children ages 5-10 noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 15.
This event will take place outdoors at the Zoo.
The per child fee includes canvas and all art supplies.
Be sure to dress the kids for painting.
All participants will go home with a 5-inch by 7-inch picture of one of the Zoo’s African Penguins.
All proceeds will go to help build the giraffe exhibit.
International Sloth Day at the zoo will be Oct. 22.
The Boo at the Zoo event sponsored by Lehigh Carbon Community College, New Tripoli Bank and Lehigh Valley Style will be Oct. 29 and 30.
Come dress in costume and enjoy candy treats, family friendly activities and live music.
The Zoo is looking for general opportunity and Winter Light Spectacular volunteers.

Christ Church at Lowhill Food Pantry is open 9-11 a.m. the first Saturday of each month.
They are also open the third Thursday of the month from 4-6:30 p.m.
Senior citizens will be served the prior Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon.
The food pantry, which serves Heidelberg, Lowhill, Lynn and Weisenberg townships, accepts donations between 9-11 a.m. the last Saturday and the third Tuesday of the month and by appointment.
Donations can also be dropped off at both New Tripoli Banks and ESSA Bank.
