Allentown Public Library’s free film series returns on Saturdays at 2 p.m. in the Community Room, 1210 Hamilton St., Allentown.
This monthly film series at the library will feature award-winning foreign films, independent movies and documentaries.
No ticket is required. Admission is free.
The movies are for audiences age 17 and older.
· Oct. 22: “Theeb” - In this adventure tale set in the far corners of the Ottoman Empire during World War I, a Bedouin boy who comes from a family of pilgrims guides must use all of his acquired skills to survive a desert journey gone seriously awry.
The movie is in Arabic with English subtitles.
· Nov. 19: “Glassland” - Desperate to earn more money to save his alcoholic mother and mend his fractured family, a young taxi driver reluctantly takes a job that draws him into the ugly world of human trafficking.
· Dec. 17: “Sea Fog” - A fishing-boat crew takes on a dangerous commission to smuggle a group of illegal immigrants from China to Korea. This movie is in Korean with English subtitles.
