District news: No classes Oct. 10; Fire Prevention Week set for Oct. 11-14
There will be no classes for students Oct. 10, Columbus Day. Teachers will have an in-service.

Fire Prevention Week will be observed Oct. 11-14. Many elementary classrooms will participate in activities and demonstrations with fire prevention.

The middle school’s PTA meeting will be held 6 p.m. Oct. 11 at Northampton Area Middle School.

Moore Elementary’s PTA will be holding a Pumpkin Painting with Pop event at the school for students and their families Oct. 12. The event will run in two sessions: 5:50 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets are available via the school fliers and the PTA.

Moore Elementary is participating in the National Apple Fundraising Campaign held by the U.S. Apple Association. Now through Nov. 12, every time a person shares a photo of an apple or related product on Twitter or Instagram using #Apples4Ed and #MooreElementaryLiteracy, U.S. Apple will donate to Moore’s special literacy project to raise funds for a literacy night and author visit from children’s author Daniel Kirk.

Box Tops for Education program is underway in the elementary schools. Box Tops can be found on many different products. Simply cut out the Box Tops and send them to school with your child. Each Box Top earns money for the schools.

Join your PTAs! Parents, family and friends are encouraged to become a member of any of the Northampton Area School District PTAs. The PTAs, along with generous volunteers and memberships, help support many activities and special programs for students.
Please consider completing and returning the membership forms that have been sent home with your child.
PTAs are looking for volunteers, too!
