Annual meeting of the Friends of the Emmaus Public Library 7 p.m. in the Margaret Knoll Gardner Room of the library. Attendees will review the year’s highlights and programs captured on a slide presentation created by Krista Pegnetter, library director and vote on making the annual gift. This year the Friends will donate $17,000 to help support library operations. Light refreshments will be served following the meeting.

The Parkland Art League will meet at its new location 7 p.m. at the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St, Macungie. Anyone with an interest in art is invited to attend a demonstration in oil by Bethlehem artist Sandra Corpora. Refreshments will be served.

State Rep. Daniel McNeill, D-133rd, and guest speakers will hold a forum on heroin and opioid addiction 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at Salisbury High School, 500 E. Montgomery St., Allentown.

Oct. 15

Old Zionsville UCC, 5981 Fountain Road, Old Zionsville, will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet 7 to 11 a.m. There is a cost. For more information, call 610-966-3601

Old Zionsville UCC will conduct a blood drive with the Miller Keystone Bloodmobile 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. Registration is available at www.giveapint.org. Donors are asked to eat a good breakfast before giving blood.

Craft bazaar at Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Crafts, attic treasures, gift basket auction, bake sale and food will be available.

Opioid and heroin epidemic seminar 3 p.m. at Emmanuel Church, 1431 Lehigh Parkway East, Allentown. The presenters will be members of Heroin Opioid Prevention and Education, the Salisbury Police Department, Teen Challenge and a parent who lost a child to drugs. Tobacco and alcohol abuse will also be addressed. A question and answer session with all the speakers will follow the presentation. There is no cost for this community event. The Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society will sponsor a bus tour to see eight homes in the central section of the Lehigh County Log Cabin Trail. There is a cost which includes transportation, hot dogs and beverages upon return. Emmaus Historical Society meets 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall. The program, “The J.H. Mohr Emaus Photo Postcards” will be presented by Andrew Kerstetter and Bill Barto.
