Parkland-Emmaus

The Trojans beat the Hornets in four games (28-26, 25-21, 20-25, 25-19).

Sam Graver (22 kills, 18 digs and 3 aces) for Parkland. Morgan Sherwin (8 blocks, 34 assists, 7 kills) Megan Shaw (16 digs, 3 aces), Mia Jago (9 blocks, 6 kills), Grace Steurer (12 kills) and Adriana Goetz-Morales (6 kills) led Parkland statistically in the match.

Allen-Freedom

The Patriots beat the Canaries 3-0 (25-5, 25-11, 25-5).

Lauren Achey had 21 service points, 9 kills and 5 aces) for Freedom. Teammates Courtney Turocy (26 assists, 11 service points, 6 aces), Julia Roman (11 service points, 7 kills, 5 aces) and Hailey Silfies (9 kills, 5 service points) also played an important role in the win.

Northwestern-Southern Lehigh

Southern Lehigh improved to 9-2 on the season with a straight-set win over Northwestern, 25-18, 25-13, 25-18.

Alexis Williams dished out 13 assists for the Spartans, while Cortney Kylish had eight kills, Sela Herber had seven assists, five kills and two aces, and Alyssa Leon totaled 10 assists and three aces.

Southern Lehigh also won the JV contest, 2-0.

Northampton-Notre Dame (GP)

The Crusaders beat the Konkrete Kids in four games (26-24, 25-20, 25-19).

Notre Dame’s Kayla Vaught had nine kills and four blocks.

FIELD HOCKEY

Liberty-Bethlehem Catholic

The Hurricanes beat the Golden Hawks 5-0.

Anissa Abbound scored all five goals for the Hurricanes, with Elini Prodes assisting on one.

Northwestern-Freedom

The Tigers beat the Patriots 2-0.

Shaelin de Wit and Courtney Page scored unassisted goals for the Tigers.

Moravian Academy-Catasauqua

The Lions beat the Rough Riders 6-0.

Mayv Clune scored two goals and assisted on one for Moravian Academy.

Northern Lehigh-Catasauqua

The Rough Riders pulled out a 3-1 win over Northern Lehigh

Hanasia Jenkins scored a pair of goals while teammate Amy Huber had a goal and an assist.

Whitehall-Nazareth

The Zephyrs beat the Blue Eagles 4-3.

Whitehall goals were scored by Kassidy Cunnigham (2), Kylee Cunningham and Emily Wells. Assists went to Kassidy Cunnigham and Cara Bonshak.

Whitehall keeper Kayla Nailor made three saves.

BOYS SOCCER

Dieruff-Freedom

The Patriots beat the Huskies 3-0.

Will Tichy, Curtis Brewer and Jared Whitehorn scored goals for Freedom, with assists from Michael Buchner, Xavier Garces and Eric Schantz.

Freedom won the JV game 4-0.

Salisbury-Palisades

Patrick Adams scored a gaol with 2:30 left in the second overtime period to lift Salisbury over Saucon Valley.

Saucon Valley-Salisbury

The Falcons and Panthers tied 2-2.

Both teams scored once in each half. Salisbury goals came from James Hadinger and Patrick Adams, with an assist going to Mason Groff.

Saucon Valley beneffitted from one own goal and another scored by Ryan Smith.

Tyler Keller made five goals for the Falcons.

Northwestern-Notre Dame GP

Northwestern defeated Notre Dame of Green Pond in Colonial League action, 3-0.

Bradley Shafer gave the Tigers the early lead off an assist from Kenneth Gawelko, producing a 1-0 halftime lead.

In the second half, Noah Meyers and Andrew Gawelko both scored. Andrew Goodolf added an assist.

Kyle Bellhorn had three saves in goal for the Tigers.

GIRLS SOCCER

Allen-Bethlehem Catholic

The Golden Hawks beat Allen 9-0.

Brooke Bisko had a hat trick for Bethlehem Catholic, while teammates Aishlin Armstrong (2), Allison Mesko, Emma Carreras, Emma Pfeiffer and Magdala deSantis also scored in the game. Assists went ot Kiera Peterson, Samantha Gaydos and Brooke Bisko.

Notre Dame (GP)-Northwestern

Northwestern took a 2-0 win over Notre Dame of Green Pond in Colonial League action.

Morgan Moss and Sara Hathaway both notched goals for the Tigers, who outshot the Crusaders 15-3.

Salisbury-Saucon Valley

The Panthers knocked the Falcons from the ranks of the unbeaten, 1-0.

Saucon Valley’s goal came from Caroline Gilbert with an assist from Jessie Evans.

GIRLS TENNIS

Easton-Bethlehem Catholic

The Golden Hawks beat the Red Rovers 4-3.

Molly Ehrig pulled out a No. 2 singles win for Bethlehem Catholic, while three doubles teams also won their matches, including Brenna Magliochetti and Ehrig; Maureen Mazza and Gabby Duffy; and Jenna Sloan and Katie Rose Dwyre.

CROSS COUNTRY

Parkland, Pleasant Valley, Pocono Mt. East, PM West at Dieruff

The Trojans boys and girls swept Pleasant Valley and both Pocono Mountian high schools Tuesday.

The unbeaten Parkland boys team beat all three opponents by scores of 15-50. The Trojan girls team beat both Pocono Mountain teams 15-50 and edged Pleasant Valley 31-15.

Parkland’s Steven Kaleycik finished first overall in the boys race, followed by teammate Hailemichael Geiger and Sam Morgan in second and third, respectively. The rest of Parkland boys top five included Riley Williamson (fifth) and Nicholas Bower (sixth)

In the girls race, Parkland’s Sydney DelVecchio took second place overall as the Trojans’ top five finished back to back. Erin Wood was third, Maddie Zaun was fourth, followed by Morgan Glenn and Kiley Krasley.

CROSS COUNTRY

Tuesday, Oct. 4

Northwestern, Catasauqua, Salibsury, Southern Lehigh-Northern Lehigh

Northwetsern’s girls and boys teams each went 1-2 at a multi-team Colonial League meet. The Tiger teams both beat Catasauqua and Salisbury but fell to Southern Lehigh.

Northwetsern’s Madeline Consuelos took first place overall in the girls race, followed by teammates Molly Tarvin (third), Hannah Herzon (eighth) and Alyssa Zach (10th). Robert Leiser was the Tiger boys team top finisher in second place overall. Teamamte Phillip Castrine was sixth.

Catasauqua went 0-3 in the boys race and 1-2 in girls. The Rough Riders’ top finsihers were MOntana Muller (32nd in girls race) and Alec Hartranft (52nd in boys).

Salisbury was 1-2 in the boys race and 0-3 in girls. Brooke Rogers was the top Falcon finisher in the girls race in 20th place. Michael Sosnowski got 25th for the Salisbury boys team.
