MACUNGIE POLICE

Reported by a resident in the 20 block of West Main Street, unknown actors removed $600 from the residence some time Sept. 9. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Macungie Police at 610-966-2222.

A large ground compacting machine, valued at $1,000, was removed from a construction site in the 200 block of Cotton Street between Aug. 12 and 15. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Macungie Police at 610-966-2222.

Scott Allen Hillegass Jr, 31, of Quakertown according to court records, is charged with drug possession after he allegedly had heroin, methamphetamine, several syringes and glass pipes containing drug residue when police stopped him in the 500 block of East Main Street in the borough 6:50 a.m. Sept. 20. According to police, officers responded to the area on reports of a male walking in traffic and attempting to enter Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St., which was closed at the time. Further police investigation uncovered several active warrants. Hillegass was transported to Lehigh County Prison.

Steven Gabriel Halada, 59, of Macungie, was charged with possession of an illegal substance and drug paraphernalia after police were called to a residence in the 200 block of Willow Street to assist Pennsylvania State parole agents with detaining a person for a parole violation Aug. 29. Police allegedly found several illegal substances and drug paraphernalia in the residence at the time. Halada was detained by parole agents, according to police. Charges for illegal substance possession and drug paraphernalia possession were filed.

Shannon Fisher, 37, of New Tripoli according to court documents, is charged with driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the 100 block of Linfield Circle Aug. 27. Fisher allegedly was under the influence of alcohol at the time and was transported to the Central Booking Center.

A DUI checkpoint overnight Sept. 2 in the 200 block of West Main Street resulted in four arrests for driving under the influence and three arrests of passengers for drug possession. Additionally, four traffic citations were issued. Thirty officers from the Lehigh County DUI Task Force participated in the checkpoint. A total of 363 drivers were contacted as part of the checkpoint.
