Friends, family and neighbors of the Lower Macungie Fire Department’s Sauerkraut Lane fire station will find an opportunity to enjoy fun, food, games and family activities 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 8 at the fire station, 6229 Sauerkraut Lane in the township, adjacent to the Willow Lane Elementary School campus.
Event organizer Andrew Miller said volunteer firefighters and emergency medical personnel attached to the station, have been working for months to prepare a meaningful community experience as a thank you to members of the community for their ongoing support of the Lower Macungie Fire Department.
The day’s activities will include fire prevention, coloring activities for youngsters, face painting, fire truck tours, child fingerprinting by state police for family identification cards, a visit by the Lehigh Valley Health Network MedEvac helicopter and Macungie Ambulance Corps vehicles and free food and beverages.
The Miller-Keystone Blood Center will conduct an onsite blood drive with online signup at donor.giveapint.org.
