South Whitehall police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at 9:07 p.m. on Sept. 19 at the Howard Johnson Lodge, 3220 Hamilton Blvd., South Whitehall.

According to police, a man wearing dark-colored clothing with his face covered approached the clerk, demanded money and displayed a knife.

He then fled in a westerly direction from the motel.

Upper Macungie Township police, with their K-9 team, and state police assisted at the scene.
