A 23-year-old woman was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop in a designated DUI checkpoint area at the intersection of Route 222 at Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:03 a.m. Sept. 9. Charges were filed.
Reported by a resident in the 3100 block of Cassel Road, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors removed a red Craftsman self-propelled push lawn mower from the front yard of a residence sometime between 8 p.m. Sept. 5 and 12:30 p.m. Sept. 6. The lawn mower was for sale and was noticed missing Sept. 6.
Reported by Hollenbach Construction, Boyertown, unknown actors removed a Stihl saw and multiple construction tools from a construction trailer in the 8600 block of Windom Drive, Lower Milford Township, between 10 a.m. Sept. 2 and 7 a.m. Sept. 6. The investigation continues.
A 33-year-old man, of Hunstville, Ala., is accused of retail theft after he removed four packages of Crest Whitestrips, one package of Axe deodorant and one package of Mederma cream from Giant Food Market, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 1:06 p.m. Aug. 7. According to police, the total value of the items taken was $276.94. Charges were filed.
Two 19-year-old women from Macungie are accused of retail theft after police say they obtained several cosmetic items, entered a fitting room, removed the contents from the original packages, replaced the empty packages on the display racks and left Kohl’s department store, 6900 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 3:15 p.m. Sept. 3. Charges were filed.
Reported by a resident in the 1200 block of Shiloh Road, Lower Macungie Township, three male teenagers wearing hooded sweatshirts were seen damaging a mailbox 12:49 a.m. Aug. 19.
Reported by a resident in the 1100 block of Morning Star Drive, Lower Macungie Township, the driver’s side window of a vehicle was damaged between Sept. 3 and 10.
A Zionsville teen faces charges of speeding after a one-vehicle accident along Sauerkraut Lane, Lower Macungie Township, Aug. 24 in which his vehicle struck a cement drainage ditch. Police said the teen, a 17-year-old male, was negotiating a left curve and was unable to control his vehicle because he was driving too fast for conditions. The vehicle skidded off the right side of the roadway and sideswiped a cement drainage ditch with the driver’s side. The driver and his passengers, two 15-year-old males of Macungie, were unhurt in the crash.
Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville took possession of a bicycle left for an extended period at Bieber Bus Terminal, 4440 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 11:01 a.m. Aug. 29. Police ask the owner contact police with a detailed description of the bicycle to claim it.
A 30-year-old man, of Philadelphia, was charged with speeding after a tractor trailer accident along Route 309, Lower Macungie Township, 11:16 a.m. Sept. 1 in which the truck he was driving jackknifed. Police said the man was traveling in the left lane of Route 309 South and passing under Interstate 78 when the back end of the truck broke loose and kicked out to the side. The driver maneuvered the truck to push the trailer off the road.
A 22-year-old woman, of New York City, was arrested after she bought $1,159.13 in jewelry, clothing and gift cards using a fraudulently obtained credit card at Kohl’s, 6900 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 3:35 p.m. July 27. The woman was arrested in Maryland for using the same or similarly obtained fraudulent Kohl’s credit card. Charges were filed.
