A 23-year-old woman, of Alburtis, was charged with retail theft after she placed two hair extensions into her purse at Sally Beauty Supply 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:49 p.m. Aug. 11. According to police, the woman fled from store employees when confronted. Charges were filed.
A 32-year-old man, of Allentown, was taken into custody after he placed 21 containers of baby formula, valued at $347.67, in his shopping cart and attempted to leave Wal-Mart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, without paying for the merchandise Aug. 17. Police said the man fled the store. Police searched the area and found the man’s vehicle. The man was unable to post bail and was placed in Lehigh County Jail, according to police.
A 31-year-old man, of Lehighton, was charged with retail theft after he entered the Giant Food Market, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, and removed crab legs, shrimp, steaks and razor blades with a total value of $566.24 10:55 p.m. Aug. 12.
Reported by a 33-year-old woman, of Macungie, text message notifications were received stating the woman’s account passwords were changed at a bank and telecommunications company 2 p.m. Aug. 7. The woman contacted the businesses and then police regarding the password changes.
Reported by a 55-year-old man, of Emmaus, an unknown actor unsuccessfully applied to open a credit card account using the complainant’s name July 4.
Reported by two residents in the 6700 block of Hickory Road, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors entered an unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the contents of the vehicle overnight Aug. 22.
Reported by a resident of the 7100 block of Ridge Avenue, Lower Milford Township, an unknown actor entered an unlocked vehicle and removed $380 cash from the center console between midnight and 7 a.m. Aug. 25. A 30-year-old woman, of Allentown, was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Willow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 2:08 a.m. Aug. 28. Charges to be filed.
A resident of Wedge Lane, Lower Macungie Township, reported the unauthorized use of a debit card totaling $568.52.
Reported by a 37-year-old woman, of Phillipsburg, N.J., in the 1300 block of Sheridan Road, Lower Milford Township, an actor entered her unlocked vehicle 2:25 a.m. Aug. 26 and rummaged through a purse while the woman was in the vehicle.
