Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, is having a Family Nature Play session for children 18 months to 3 years old 9:30-11 a.m. Sept. 12.

The class will focus on a variety of awesome, awe-inspiring animals.

Play-based activities include animal visits, bio-fact viewing, interactive games, nature crafts, songs and stories.

Adult participation is encouraged. The fee per person includes zoo admission.

One adult admitted free with each paying child.

International Vulture Awareness Day will be Sept. 4 at the Zoo.

Cork and Canvas Paint Nights at the Zoo will be 6-8 p.m. Sept. 7 and Oct. 5 in the Zoo’s Bison Room.

Paint Nights will be offered on the first Wednesday of each month.

Bring friends, family members and favorite wine for a fun night out making art.

Each month a different zoo animal will be selected to paint, under the direction of the Zoo’s creative specialist.

Canvas and all art supplies are included in the non-refundable fee per person.

All participants will receive a photo of a giraffe.

Christ’s Church at Lowhill Food Pantry, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, Lowhill, is open 9-11 a.m. the first Saturday of each month.

The food pantry is also open 4-6:30 p.m. the third Thursday of the month.

Senior citizens are served 10 a.m. to noon on the prior Wednesday.

The food pantry, serving Heidelberg, Lowhill, Lynn and Weisenberg townships, accepts donations the last Saturday and the third Tuesday of each month from 9-11 a.m. and by appointment.

Donations may be dropped off at both New Tripoli banks and ESSA Bank.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, is having a church picnic 3-9 p.m. Sept. 10 in the church grove, Leather Corner Post, Orefield.

Music will be provided by The Midnight Band.

There will be good food, old fashioned cakewalks, raffles and activities for the children.
