State Police Beat

State Police Troop M Bethlehem allege Joey Michael Beltz, 34, of Slatington, used a welding torch sometime between noon and 1 p.m. July 30 to remove a yellow steel gate from a 55-year-old man’s property in the 2800 block of Shady Nook Road, Washington Township.

Police say Beltz allegedly took the gate to Great Metal Recycling scrap yard in exchange for $4.80.

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say rims and tires were stolen sometime between 6:45 p.m. July 23 and 10:30 a.m. the next day from two business trucks at 9670 West Hills Court, Weisenberg Township.

A 70-year-old man from the 5800 block of Miller Road, Lynn Township, reported to State Police Troop M, Fogelsville, an unauthorized Comcast account was opened in his name and a debt of $1,300 was accumulated between 8 a.m. Jan. 1 and 11 p.m. Aug. 6.

State Police Troop M Bethlehem say Savannah North, 21, of Bethlehem, was involved in a single-vehicle crash 10:22 p.m. July 9 on Rextown Road, Washington Township.

According to police, North’s vehicle hit a tree on Rextown Road, north of Williams Circle, after she apparently lost control of the vehicle and it traveled through the front yard at 8728 Rextown Road.

Police allege North displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Charges were filed with District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington.
