Personnel changes/appointments approved

The following personnel changes were approved at the East Penn School District board meeting Aug. 22.

Resignations include Denise Edelman, staff assistant at Willow Lane Elementary School effective Aug. 17; Laura Gorman, remedial assistant at Wescosville Elementary School effective Aug. 10; Jacqueline Sullivan, instructional assistant at Willow Lane Elementary School effective Aug. 12; Andrea Wright, staff assistant at Willow Lane Elementary School effective Aug. 15 and Amy Zdrojesky, instructional assistant at Alburtis Elementary School effective Aug. 9.

Cynthia Cramsey, staff assistant at Emmaus High School, Diane DiRado, instructional assistant at Eyer Middle School, Rosemarie Manley, instructional assistant at Lincoln Elementary School and Jessica Polster, instructional assistant at EHS were granted a general leave of absence as per board policy.

Kristin Hastie, English teacher at Eyer Middle School, Molly Magro, librarian at Eyer Middle School and Laura Moye, wellness/fitness teacher at Macungie Elementary School and Shoemaker Elementary School were granted a leave of absence as per the collective bargaining unit agreement.

Erin Geiger, FCS teacher at Eyer Middle School was granted a compensated professional development leave beginning spring 2016-2017 through fall 2017-2018 school year.

Support staff appointments approved included: Emilie Miller, instructional assistant at Alburtis Elementary School; Anasimone Hanna, instructional assistant at Shoemaker Elementary School; Sirena Hettrick, instructional assistant at Wescosville Elementary School; Lori Rutkiewicz, remedial assistant at Lincoln Elementary School; Carolyn Skekel, remedial assistant at Lincoln Elementary School; Jennifer Smith, remedial assistant at Jefferson Elementary School; Kelly Ford, staff assistant at Wescosville Elementary School; Alessandra Fonsera, staff assistant at Lower Macungie Middle School; Mary Gonya, staff assistant at Willow Lane Elementary School, Jennifer Henriques, instructional assistant at Macungie Elementary School, Julie Kast, instructional assistant at Willow Lane Elementary School, Hanna Polster, instructional assistant at Emmaus High School and Gretchen Harp, staff assistant at Willow Lane Elementary School.

Adam Marsteller was approved as a part-time second shift custodian at Willow Lane Elementary School. Andrew McCartney was approved as a custodian at EHS Tuesday through Saturday.

Kelly Golderer was approved as a food service support staff at EHS.

Staff support hours were increased for Suzanne Ferrell, Lisa Dunleavy, Mary Gudonis, Sharon Shoemaker and Devra Rafeld as instructional assistants at Shoemaker Elementary School.

Michele DeLillo was transferred as a full-time substitute for special education at Macungie Elementary School to Lincoln Elementary School.

James McGinnis was transferred from a third shift to a second shift custodian at EHS.

The 2016-2017 per diem substitute list was approved including Tiffany Cressman, Sarah Demmy, Jane Jerant, Dawn Kohler, Ellen Lutz, Taylor Mudri, Danielle Murray, Linda Peifley, Alona Pike, Jennifer Rosa, Lori Rutkiewicz and Beth Witte.

The following co-curricular appointments were made for 2016-2017: Carl Smartschan, Diane Angermeier, Donald Harakal, Mike Seip and Elmer Long, athletic event workers at Emmaus High School. Matthew Smereski, was approved as a boys basketball volunteer assistant at EHS; Cayleigh Butz was approved as cheerleading head coach at Eyer Middle School; Lori Schaeffer was approved as cheerleading head coach at Lower Macungie Middle School; Kristin Susens was approved as a boys and girls cross country volunteer assistant at EHS; Sarah Vaeth was approved as a field hockey volunteer assistant at LMMS; Johnnie Williams was approved as a middle school football head coach; Richard Goodge was approved as a middle school football head coach; Scott Ketchym was approved as a middle school football volunteer assistant; Jason Reinhard was approved as a girls swimming assistant coach at EHS and Francis DeFussco was approved as a girls volleyball head coach at Eyer Middle School.

Wendy Frye, Debi McConnell, Robin Molnar, Olimpia Pellegrino, Donna Waterman, Gail Wetherhold, Susan Workman and Michelle Yesenofski were approved as after school monitors at EHS for the 2016-2017 school year.

Temporary professional employee appointments included Colleen Hayduk, math teacher at LMMS and Danielle Slobodin, grade 2 teacher at Macungie Elementary School. Mary Hyson, librarian, was approved as a full-time substitute at Eyer Middle School.
