DEPARTMENT

For the start of the new school year, the Emmaus Police Department and the East Penn School District have partnered for the first time to place a school resource officer at Emmaus High School.

Officer Al Kloss, an 18-year veteran of the Emmaus Police Department, will be assigned to EHS on a full-time basis.

A marked police vehicle will be parked at EHS and will be the “new normal.”

“Emmaus High School has a daytime population that mirrors a small community and is deserving of its own full-time police officer,” Chief of Police Chuck Palmer said.

“I would like to thank the members of the East Penn School Board and Superintendent Dr. Michael Schilder for their support of this endeavor.”
