Charity race benefits several children’s causes

Recently, the Corner Store Country Run – a 5K charity race – was held once again in the Lehigh Valley, taking place on the grounds of Lehigh University in Bethlehem.

Hundreds of people volunteered or ran in the race, some decked out in country-themed apparel such as cowboy hats and barn animal costumes. The event attracted everyone from seasoned marathoners to families to high school cross-country teams.

Top finishers in the men and women’s categories were awarded Corner Store gift cards and special medals.

After the 5K, participants had the opportunity to enjoy the “country fair,” a collection of booths, carnival games, giveaways and live music, all included in the registration fee.

The Corner Store hosts the Country Run at nine other locations across the U.S. and Canada, in addition to the Lehigh Valley. All proceeds from these races go to charitable causes; the largest beneficiary is the mentoring network Big Brothers Big Sisters and extra funds are donated to local children’s charities.
