Blues Nite Out Aug. 26, 27 in Neffs

Summer may be winding down but there is still an opportunity to enjoy food, fun and entertainment outdoors in Union United Church of Christ’s grove in Neffs.

Blues Nite Out gets underway Aug. 26, with food stands opening at 5 p.m. and the Bryant Brothers Band performing 7-10 p.m.

On Aug. 27, the music begins 4 p.m. with Bev Conklin making her debut performance in the grove, with BC’s Combo Band.

Headliner and local favorite, The Sarah Ayers Band, will perform 7-10 p.m. Food stands open 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The menu includes turkey barbecue, pulled pork, sausage sandwiches, hot dogs, shrimp delight, chili, homemade desserts and ice cream.

Everyone is invited to come and enjoy fellowship in the beautiful grove with family and the community.

The Friends of the Parkland Community Library are having a fundraiser 4-10 p.m. Aug. 28 at YoFresh Yogurt Cafe, Tilghman Square, 4642 Broadway.

Mention Friends of the Parkland Community Library at that time, and 20 percent of a purchased cup or cone will be donated to the library.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will offer a Rejoicing Spirits worship 10:15 a.m. Aug. 28.

The service is for those with special mental or physical needs and for anyone who wants to make a joyful noice at an alternative style of worship.

The Breast Cancer Support group will meet at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, 7 p.m. on Aug. 25.
