Athletic director aide is named

A Northampton Area School District athletic director aide has been named.

The Northampton Area School District Board of Education voted 8-0, with one director absent July 11, to appoint Matthew Frailey as assistant to the athletic director for fall, winter and spring seasons of the 2016-17 school year, with a stipend of $2,800 per sports season and no benefits.

School directors also voted 8-0 at the July 11 meeting to approve:

• A five-year Sports Medicine Services Agreement with St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem, July 1-June 30, 2021, at $55,000 for the first year;

• Christopher Bastidas, TPE health-physical education teacher at Northampton Area Middle School, effective Aug. 22, pending receipt of required documentation, at $50,964 with benefits;

• Christine Nemeh, TPE ESL itinerant teacher at George Wolf, Lehigh and Moore elementary schools, effective Aug. 22, at $48,520, with benefits;

• Angela Munjone, after-school detention monitor at Northampton Area High School, for the 2016-17 school year, at $50.15 per hour, with no benefits;

• Crystal Becker, paid FMLA leave of absence, Aug. 16-25, and an unpaid FMLA leave, with insurance, Aug. 29-Nov. 11;

• Resignation of Dennis Keiser, custodian, for retirement, effective Sept. 30;

• Three-year service agreement with Communication Systems Inc., Allentown, to service, inspect, test and document fire alarm systems at Northampton Area High School and Northampton Area Middle School, July 1-June 30, 2019, at an annual rate of $4,276;

• Three-year fire alarm monitoring agreement with Communication Systems Inc., Allentown, with a 0-percent increase for Northampton Area High School, annually at $384, Aug. 24-Aug. 23, 2019, and a fire alarm monitoring agreement for Northampton Area Middle School, annually at $384, July 17-July 16, 2019;

• Three-year contract with Eastern Telephone & Telecommunication Inc., Bethlehem, July 1- June 30, 2019, at $10,500 per year to service, maintain and apply software updates to the NASD phone system;

• Three-year service agreement for chemical water treatment for boiler and chiller loop systems at George Wolf, Moore and Siegfried elementary schools, Northampton Area Middle School and Northampton Area High School to The Tustin Group, Norristown, at an annual rate of $3,012;

• Five-year service agreement with Otis Elevator Co., Allentown, for the three elevators at Northampton Area Middle School, annually at $8,760, July 1-June 30, 2021; and

• Chuck Longacre, Michael Baird and David Gogel as NASD school board voting delegates to the PSBA Delegate Assembly, Oct. 15 in Hershey.
