LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Township given two new flags

Weisenberg Supervisors had a short agenda for August.

Two ordinances were up for adoption.

One concerned animal control, domestic animals allowed to freely roam property.

These animals must be kept under control and they are not allowed to defecate on neighboring property.

The second related to ATV use and regulates the use of dirt bikes, 4-wheelers and the like.

They are not allowed to operate within 50 feet of a property line and 300 feet of an occupied structure.

Also, no more than two vehicles may operate at the same time.

They are not allowed to operate from dusk to 9 a.m. and are only allowed to run in one hour sessions.

Only two sessions are allowed during the day with a minimum of a three-hour rest period between sessions.

Misty Glen land development asked for a time extension for its development.

The board gave the development until Sept. 19.

Wes Schlauch, a representative of state Rep. Gary Day’s office, presented the Board with two new flags, an American flag and a state flag.

He also told of Day’s praise for the board’s dedication and commitment to the community.

Schlauch told supervisors if they need any help from the state on any issue, Day’s office would be available.

Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Company had a recent successful car wash.

Fire Chief Brian Carl reported firefighters answered 117 calls to date.

Carl in his report as township administrator, noted Lyon Valley Park project has been started.

A new type of hybrid cell tower is being erected in the area.

He proposed looking into the preparation of an ordinance regulating the use.

Heidelberg Township is currently working on an ordinance and Carl and Solicitor Don Lipsom will review and report on it at the next meeting.
