Upper Macungie Township police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man in his mid 40s, who was allegedly involved in a simple assault with a 59-year-old Allentown man 7:24 a.m. Aug. 9 at Wawa, 7572 Schantz Road, Upper Macungie.

The man is described as African-American, standing 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing between 210 and 230 pounds.

He was wearing jeans, a dark shirt and a tan “newsboy” hat, police say.

Police were dispatched 7:28 a.m. the same day for a disturbance.

According to police, after a verbal altercation in the parking, the two men entered the store, where the altercation became physical and one man allegedly punched the other in the head.

The Allentown man sustained a laceration to his head which required stitches.

According to police, the other man fled the scene.
