Joyce W. Heil, 89, of Allentown, died Aug. 3, 2016, in St. Luke’s Hospital.
She was the wife of the late L. Paul Woodring and the late Robert F. Heil.
Born in Mauch Chunk, she was a daughter of the late William M. and Hilda A. (Morey) Newton.
A 1947 graduate of Abington Hospital School of Nursing, she was a registered nurse and member of the Cadet Nurse Corps.
The last surviving charter member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Allentown, she was an altar guild member there.
A member of AARP, PPL Retirement Club and the Red Hats, she was a volunteer at the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank.
She loved playing bridge and traveling, and enjoyed spending time with family.
Her survivors include a daughter Louise A. Legun and partner Judith K. Woodruff of Blandon; grandchildren Robyn E. and Jesse T. Legun; brother William C. and wife, Mayme, of Lehighton; sister Lorraine N. Sitler of West Chester.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Jane Woodring, and brother Richard M.
