Fundraiser on Aug. 20

Brett Snyder

A fundraiser stand for Brett Snyder, former baseball and football player at Northwestern Lehigh High School and football player at Lehigh University, will be held Aug. 20 at the Night in the Country celebration, Route 309 and Nothwest Road, New Tripoli.

There will be a football toss, duck pond and raffle at the stand.

All proceeds will go to the Brett Snyder Medical Fund to help offset Snyder’s medical costs as he needs around-the-clock nursing care.

Two years after his college graduation in 2002, Snyder contracted ALS, known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

The average life span for a person with ALS is two to five years.

Snyder, who has been battling ALS for 14 years, and his wife, Carissa, have two young sons Tate, 6, and Luke, 3.

Donations may be mailed to: Brett Snyder Medical Fund, c/o New Tripoli Bank, 7747 Claussville Road, Orefield, PA 18069.
