Wounded Warriors Amputee Football Team plays local police department

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team took on the “NFL Alumni” made up of mostly Allentown Police Department officers at the PPL Arena recently following an Arena Football League game between the Philadelphia Soul and the Cleveland Gladiators.

The WWAFT was founded to raise awareness of Wounded Warriors and their families.

It is also a testimony to the perseverance of this group of veterans to excel in spite of their physical challenges.

And, they have a 15-0 record on the field.

Joining the WWAFT for the game was Congressman Charlie Dent, R-15th.

As chairman of the Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies, Dent has a direct interest in the welfare of both active military personnel as well as veterans.

He expressed his support to all the veterans at the game.
