Thomas G. Jones, 81, of New Tripoli, died on July 22, 2016, in his home.

He and his wife Martha M. (Rothrock) Jones were married 48 years on Feb. 3.

Born Oct. 3, 1934, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William D. and Genevieve (Krautheim) Jones.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during a peacetime era.

He was a shop electrician at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 26 years before retiring in 1995.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Michele M. Schock and her husband, Michael, of New Tripoli; son Andrew T. Jones and his wife, Jennifer, of Allentown; sisters Theresa Young and her husband, Edward, of Spinnerstown, Bertille Black of Meriden, Conn., Patricia Freed of Milford Square, Nancy Steskal of Perkasie; grandchildren Erika Smith, Ryan and Erin Schock, Allison and Samantha Jones.

He was predeceased by siblings Bernadette Finkle and Walter Jones.
