Lilac bushes highlight one home on garden tour

A black wrought iron arch and fencing surrounded by pink, blue and purple flowers and a cobble stone path welcomed visitors July 16 to the garden at the home of Jodi Unis in Orefield.

Visitors attending the 18th annual Parkland Garden Club’s “Hidden Garden Treasures” tour were treated to 10 luscious green and fragrant flowering gardens, a creative demonstration and silent auction.

Unis’ garden featured her great-great-grandmother’s lilac bushes, which have been passed down through her family.

A potpourri of shrubs, trees, colorful flowers, a bird house and wooden bridge fill the numerous garden beds, rock walls and tiers surrounding the large waterfall in the center of the garden.

The garden which also featured purple, blue, pink and white flowers, a small wooden bridge and tea pot, cups, and floral arrangement decorations surrounded by a white picket fence added to this garden to make it a perfect place to unwind and let the tensions of the day slip away.
