UNIVERSITY

For the 2016 spring semester, the following students have been named to the dean’s list at Shippensburg University. The dean’s list is an honor roll of students who have achieved academic excellence as evidenced by earning a semester quality-point average of 3.50 or better. A total of 1,303 students were named to the list.

The University

of Scranton

Students at The University of Scranton have been named to the dean’s list for the 2016 spring semester. 1,600 students have been awarded this status, which recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a GPA of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the spring semester to make the dean’s list.

Catasauqua: Lauren Pluchinsky, finance major junior in the university’s Kania School of Management.

Whitehall: AnnMarie Marzen, nursing major junior in the university’s Panuska College of Professional Studies.

Kutztown

University

Kutztown University has conferred degrees on nearly 1,500 students during the winter and spring terms. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish their requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The following students have been awarded degrees since the winter 2016 announcement. Students who have requested privacy (FERPA) are not listed publicly.

NAVAL ACADEMY

Venus Molony graduated May 27 from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, with a minor in Chinese language.

Molony also has been commissioned as a naval ensign in the U.S. Navy surface warfare fleet and will serve on the USS Mustin DDG89, a guided missile cruiser based in Japan.

At Shippensburg University, a total of 866 undergraduates and 216 graduate students earned degrees.

of Kansas

Cavan Linsenman, of Whitehall, was one of approximately 5,200 undergraduate students at University of Kansas to earn honor roll distinction for the 2016 spring semester. The honor roll comprises undergraduates who meet requirements in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and in the schools of architecture, design & planning; business; education; engineering; health professions; journalism; music; nursing; pharmacy; and social welfare. Honor roll criteria vary among the university’s academic units. Some schools honor the top 10 percent of students enrolled; some establish a minimum GPA; and others raise the minimum GPA for each year students are in school. Students must complete a minimum number of credit hours to be considered for the honor roll. The students, from KU’s Lawrence campus and the schools of health professions and nursing in Kansas City, Kansas, represent 94 of 105 Kansas counties, 42 other states and territories, and 39 other countries. Linsenman is a student at the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

of Akron

The University of Akron congratulats Laura Walsh, of Coplay, for making The University of Akron’s 2016 spring dean’s list. To be eligible, Walsh, majoring in applied science and technology exploratory, maintained a GPA of 3.500-3.999 and was enrolled in 12 or more credit hours.

New England

University

Ryan Director, of Whitehall, graduated cum laude from Western New England University with a Juris Doctor May 21.

Western New England University is a private, independent, coeducational institution founded in 1919. Located on an attractive 215-acre suburban campus in Springfield, Mass., Western New England serves 3,955 students, including 2,575 full-time undergraduate students. Undergraduate, graduate and professional programs are offered through colleges of arts and sciences, business, engineering, pharmacy and the School of Law.

Hofstra

University

Foyinsi Adegbonmire, of Whitehall, excelled during the 2016 spring semester, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the dean’s list.
