Summer is in full swing and that means pools, vacations, trips and...school supplies in stores already? We all know that stores are always way ahead of schedule....but even my daughter has begun bugging to buy school supplies. I know she is excited, but we haven’t even had our “official” vacation yet.
Hoping everyone is having a fun but safe summer so far.
Salisbury High School will continue summer library hours 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 27 and Aug. 3. Books for all ages are available.
This year’s Playground Day is scheduled July 27 with a July 28 rain date. More information is available at summer playground locations.
The Carmike Promenade summer movie series for kids continues. “The Peanuts Movie” will be featured July 27 and 28 and “The Penguins of Madagascar” will be screened Aug. 3 and 4.
Salisbury Youth Association football season is coming. Equipment handouts will be 6 p.m. July 28 at Laubach Park for flags and tackle weight class 90 pounds and 6 p.m. July 29 for tackle weight classes 110 pounds and 130 pounds. Practices begin Aug. 1.
There will be an operations committee meeting 7 p.m. Aug. 8 in the administration building.
Queen City Airport will host a “Wings and Wheels Day” 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 20. Visit flylvia.com for more information or to register.
The Franko Farm yard waste drop off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 30 and Aug. 9 and 13.
Enjoy the summer. Remember the alternative....only a few short months ago when we had 33 inches of snow on the ground.
