Salisbury resident celebrates 65 years as piano teacher

Salisbury resident Santa Peters recently celebrated 65 years as a piano teacher in the Lehigh Valley with a grand party orchestrated by her children Michelle Peters, Andrea Bohner and Michael Peters.

A recital including current and past students, as well as former members of the Young Musicians Club performed for Santa and her guests. The performance was followed by a reception.

Peters joined the Allentown Music Club in 1951 as a member of the Credenza Club. Four years later, she became a member of the senior club. She has served as president of the club, a member of the State Board of the Pennsylvania Federation of Music Clubs and, for 19 years, was the counselor for the Young Musicians of the Allentown Music Club. She continues to serve as the advisor to the Young Musicians.

Peters has been the organist for St. Thomas More, Allentown, for the entire 50 years of the church’s existence.

A celebration of the church’s Golden Anniversary is planned for the fall.
