Students from Emmaus and Salisbury high schools were among top finishers in the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania Leadership and Skill Championships recently at Hershey Lodge.

Four of the first-place finishers also qualified to compete recently at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Ky.

LCTI’s first-place winners included: Malachi Atkinson, enrolled in web design/web programming, who placed first in web design and Jeffrey Pennycoff, enrolled in indoor/outdoor maintenance, who placed first in building maintenance, both with Emmaus High School. Atkinson and Pennycoff represented LCTI at the SkillsUSA national championships in June.

Second and third place finishers in the competition included:

Kenny Pavlick, enrolled in print technology/graphic imaging, who placed second in graphic communications and Howard Moyer, with EHS, enrolled in heavy equipment operations and preventive maintenance, who placed third in heavy equipment operations.

Desiree Nester, who is enrolled in health occupations and a student at Salisbury High School, placed second in basic health care skills.
