The Lehigh Valley Zoo recently obtained a new juvenile bald eagle. The eagle was injured and brought to Springfield, Missouri’s Dickerson Park Zoo. There, it was determined that the eagle had a severely fractured elbow and would never fly again.
The Lehigh Valley Zoo has since become a permanent home for the eagle.
The eagle has been placed in the golden eagle’s enclosure. The bald eagle currently looks aesthetically similar to the golden eagle due to its young age; as it ages, it will grow into the bald eagle’s signature colors.
