KUTZTOWN
The Allentown and Auburn Railroad will be welcoming Lehigh Valley Coal Company No. 126 to Kutztown for steam powered train rides.
Lehigh Valley Coal Company 126 was originally built for and used at the Hazleton Shaft Colliery in Hazleton.
Its arrival in Kutztown marks a sort of homecoming for the steamer.
It’s the closest 126 has been to her original home since she was purchased by her current owners in 1993.
The Allentown and Auburn Railroad will be running steam powered trips on July 9 and 10 in concurrence with the Kutztown Folk Festival.
In addition to the steam trips, there will be diesel powered trips on July 8.
The rides are 1 hour long so customers can enjoy the train rides through the lovely Kutztown countryside as well as the sights and sounds of the Kutztown Folk Festival.
