Two-alarm fire damages home in North Whitehall Township

Volunteer firefighters from Tri-Clover, Greenawalds, Woodlawn, Schnecksville, Fogelsville, Neffs and Whitehall, along with Macungie and Northern Valley ambulances responded to a two-alarm fire around 11:30 a.m. June 27 to a home at 3747 Lindy Drive, North Whitehall Township.

Tri-Clover Fire Chief Jeff Johnson told The Press the fire was called under control around noon.

“The homeowner and two dogs were in the house at the time of the fire,” Johnson said. “They were all able to get out safely.”

Jim Steward, assistant fire marshal for North Whitehall, also spoke with The Press.

“The fire does not appear to be suspicious,” Steward said. “The fire started outside at the rear of the home.”

He estimates damage to the home, owned by Nancy Incalcaterra, is in excess of $75,000.

Steward said the cause and where the fire started is still under investigation.

“There were no injuries to the homeowner or firefighters,” Steward said.

As firefighters ventilated smoke from the attic, the homeowner’s adult son, Adam, showed The Press photos he took with his cellphone of damage to the rear of the home.
