On June 7, Ted Roblyer was recognized for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank earned in the Boy Scouts of America.

To achieve this rank, Roblyer served as a youth leader in his Troop, specifically as the Troop Quartermaster and later as an instructor to help train his replacement. He earned at least 21 merit badges, including 13 required for Eagle Scouts, such as camping, citizenship in the community, nation and world, communication, cooking, environmental science, first aid, cycling, personal management, personal fitness and family life.

For his Eagle project, Roblyer coordinated the renovation of the interior of a recreational vehicle for the Flint Hill Farm Educational Center in Coopersburg. He converted the interior into a mobile kitchen enabling the use of the RV for cooking classes.

During the Eagle Court of Honor, Roblyer presented pins to each of his parents, Judy and Shawn Roblyer, for their support and encouragement in Scouting. He also recognized his grandfather for mentoring him.

Roblyer started his Scouting adventure as a Cub Scout and then graduated to Boy Scouts at age 11.

Over the years in Troop 146, which meets at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury, Roblyer was one of the most active Scouts, holding the number one position on the Troop’s hiking leader board at 145 miles hiked.

In January, Roblyer turned 18 and immediately transitioned into a role as an adult leader in the Troop, continuing to help guide younger Scouts to becoming good citizens that live up to the values expressed in the Scout Oath and Law, and to help them have excellent Scouting adventures of their own.
