First week back at Camp Jefferson for the 2016 summer was full of sports, roller skating, sun and pool fun!
On Monday, campers enjoyed getting to know the counselors and jumped right into playing many of their favorite games they have missed - Dodgeball, Jump the River, Kickball, Fastest in the West and Four Square. Then the campers enjoyed the afternoon cooling off at Jefferson Pool.
Tuesday was full of more games like Knock-Out, Elbow Tag and Manhunt.
Wednesday morning was a little too wet to play outside, so campers had fun playing indoor games like Sleeping Lions, Indoor Four Square, Night at the Museum, and Indian and Chiefs. After lunch, the weather improved, and we headed to the pool for some more swimming.
Thursday was filled with more sports and some trivia games. Campers spent the morning playing multiple rounds of Capture the Flag within the playground, as well as competed in relay races. After lunch, campers used their knowledge in a game of Splash Out. Then we headed to Jefferson Pool for the rest of the afternoon.
Friday was the field trip day for Jefferson; we headed to Skateaway for some music and roller skating. The campers enjoyed the morning listening to current pop songs and some throwback songs, while skating and dancing around the rink. After Skateaway, we headed back to Jefferson Park to announce our Campers of the Week before heading to the pool one last time.
Our Campers of the Week were Benjamin M. and Samantha S.
Great first week, campers! Jefferson counselors can’t wait for week two to get here!
