15-year-old wrecks pickup in Lynn Twp

A 15-year-old Germansville boy was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup when it struck two traffic signs, a tree stump and longitudinal barrier just before 1 p.m. June 8 on Route 143 at Allemaengel Road, Lynn Township.

According to State Police Troop M Fogelsville, the teen was negotiating a left turn on Route 143 when he lost control of the truck, which exited the right shoulder of the roadway before striking two traffic signs and running over a tree stump, causing disabling damage to the undercarriage.

The pickup then struck a longitudinal barrier on the right shoulder of Route 143 south, police say.

Neither the teen nor his 15-year-old female passenger from Germansville, who were both wearing seat belts, were injured.

The pickup was towed from the scene, police say. Cetronia Ambulance Corps personnel assisted at the scene.

Police say the teen, who was charged with driving at an unsafe speed, was released to the custody of his parents.
