LCCC Foundation clay shoot winners are announced

Lehigh Carbon Community College Foundation recently had its 13th annual Scholarship Clay Shoot at Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays, Coplay.

This year, with the generosity of sponsors and participants, the Foundation raised nearly $12,000 for scholarships.

Again this year, LCCC challenged attendees to step up their game by offering the opportunity to shoot on the beginner course or the intermediate course.

The event was a great example of community coming together to help our youth and returning adult students gain access to LCCC through the Foundation’s General Scholarship Fund.

Winners of the 2016 LCCC Foundation Clay Shoot and their scores are as follows:

Green Course (beginner): first place-Williams HVAC, 329; second place-Snyder Family, 322; third place–Tustin Mechanical, 303.

Blue Course (intermediate): first place-Wittig CPA’s, 329; second place–Service Electric, 291; third place–Honeywell, 284.

Top male shooter overall was Dave Prout with a score of 90.

Top female shooter (Annie Oakley Award) was Shannon Williams with a score of 53.

Special thanks to Ironton Telephone Company, which sponsored the lunch, for its continued support year after year and all of our sponsors for their contributions and participation, said Linda Baker, executive director of college relations with LCCC.

Next year’s Clay Shoot is scheduled for April 28, 2017.
