Lehigh County Executive Tom Muller announced June 7 the debut release of the annual report issued by the county.

The report, which covers fiscal year 2015, is designed to condense budget and financial reports so they are more accessible to the average Lehigh County residents.

Such reports, though they are accessible online, can be confusing and lengthy.

“My goal has been to provide our citizens with a concise and understandable report of Lehigh County’s annual financial results and shed light onto the county’s role in their lives, which I know is a mystery to many,” Muller said. “It’s an important step in making Lehigh County government fully transparent to all citizens.”

Muller adapted the idea from reports used during his previous career in corporate management. “In many respects, the county is a corporation and annual reports are common in the corporate world.”
