This year’s McDonald’s Lehigh Valley All-Star football game is set for Thursday.

Two Salisbury High School players were selected to play for the Red team in this year’s contest.

Tevon Weber and Devin Irwin were selected from a Falcons team that earned a district playoff berth last fall.

“I talked to people that have played before and they say it’s a great environment,” said Weber. “You make friendships for the rest of your life.”

The proceeds from the game go to McDonald’s charities and the players take pride in helping that cause.

“To be able to do what you like to do and be able to help people while you’re doing it is a great feeling,” said Weber. “I’m glad I got a chance to play here. And I hope I made a change.”

The game is slated to kick off at 7 p.m. at Nazareth’s Andrew Leh Stadium.

The Red team is made up of senior all-star players from Lehigh, Monroe and Carbon counties. They will take on the Gold team, which includes players from Northampton County and Phillipsburg High School in New Jersey.
