‘Sound financial shape’ reported in annual audit

Salisbury Township was given a good report in its 2015 municipal annual audit and financial report.

“The township remains very solvent and healthy,” Todd J. Bushta, CPA Bushta & Company LLC, told the Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners and township officials.

“Under Cathy’s stewardship, everything’s in solid financial shape,” Bushta said, in reference to Assistant Manager-Director of Finance and recent Acting Manager Cathy Bonaskiewich.

Township Manager Randy Soriano returned, following a medical leave, to his duties the week of June 6.

“You find us in good shape?” township Commissioner Debra Brinton asked Bushta.

“You’re in very sound financial shape,” Bushta replied.

“We perceive no problems with internal controls,” Bushta added.

Among the highlights of the Salisbury Township 2015 audit:

•Total assets and other debits: $4,977,899, and

•Total expenditures: $8,808,313.

Commissioners voted unanimously 5-0 at the May 12 meeting to accept the report.

The June 9 township meeting was canceled.

Township commissioners are next scheduled to meet 7 p.m. June 23.

Also, the June 7 township zoning hearing board, June 14 planning commission and the June 15 environmental advisory council meetings were canceled.
