Falcons battle through up and down week

The Salisbury legion baseball team went through an up and downweek last week in the Lehigh Valley Legion Baseball League.

Monday, June 6

West Allentown 8, Salisbury 3

The Falcons opened last week with an 8-3 loss to West Allentown. Yamil Cruz, Juan Garcia and Jeremias Panariello all recorded RBI-singles in the defeat.

Ian Michaels knocked in two of West Allentown’s eight runs.

Tuesday, June 7

Salisbury 8, North Parkland 7

Salisbury picked up an 8-7 win over North Parkland. While the Falcons committed four errors, they took advantage of five miscues from the Buffaloes. Nino Encarnacion, Connor Leighton, Killian Mailander, Tristan Rissmiller and Colin Wagner knocked in runs in the Falcons’ first win of the season.

Saturday, June 11

Coplay-Fullerton 10, Salisbury 4

Jose Berrios smacked a homerun and recorder 4 RBIs for Coplay-Fullerton in the win. James Scheuren scored three of the 10 runs for Coplay-Fullerton.

Sunday, June 12

Carbon Monarchs 20, Salisbury 8

A 10-run first inning for Carbon Monarchs was too much for Salisbury to overcome in a 20-8 loss. The Falcons scored five runs in the bottom half of the second inning, but could never threaten Carbon’s early lead. Nino Encarnacion and Connor Leighton (3 runs scored) finished the game with 2 RBIs; Noah Adams also drove in a run.
