Good Will Fire Co. to host 4-county convention, parade

During this year, Good Will Fire Company No. 1, Trexlertown, is celebrating its 100th anniversary of providing emergency services to fellow neighbors in their time of need.

In honor of this milestone for the all-volunteer organization, the fire company will be hosting the 119th annual Four County (Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, and Northampton) Firemen’s Association Convention 10 a.m. June 18.

The fire company is also hosting the 119th annual Four Country Firemen’s Parade 1 p.m. July 16, as part of the 100th anniversary celebration.

The Woodland Mummers String Band, Philadelphia Police and Fire Pipes and Drums Corp, and the Citizens’ Hose Company Firemen’s Band from Smyrna, Del. will be participating in the parade as well as performing at the community celebration after the parade hosted by Valley Preferred Cycling Center.

A featured part of the parade will include Past Fire Chief and Parade Grand Marshal Forrest Hausman, who is in his 59th year of active service and current Fire Chief Arlan Wright, who is celebrating his 50th year of active service to the department driving the recently restored 1931 Ford Model AA fire engine, the first motorized apparatus purchased by the department in 1931.
