Melissa Ortiz, 34, of Bethlehem, was charged with one count of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property 10 a.m. May 19. Ortiz allegedly removed $441 from 10 victim’s purses over a period of time at Lehigh Valley Health Network - Cedar Crest, 1200 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. Ortiz was taken to Central Booking for processing.

A resident in the 900 block of East Juniata Street reported 1 p.m. May 25 the theft of a Huffy bike valued at $75 from the front lawn.

A resident told Salisbury police 8:26 a.m. May 20 an unknown actor used the resident’s personal information to open a Verizon wireless account and made purchases of $2,715.11 in 2013. The resident only discovered this when he went to apply for a mortgage.

Rebecca Gauche, 37, of Bethlehem, was charged with simple assault and harassment 10:11 p.m. May 20 following an incident in the 1600 block of Graham Street. Gauche allegedly threatened the victim and threw a kitchen knife at the victim’s ankle. Gauche was taken to Central Booking for processing.

A resident in the 800 block of East Lexington Street called police 4:55 a.m. May 21 to report an unknown actor entered the resident’s vehicle, pulled out the garage door opener and opened the garage door. Nothing was removed and no one was in the garage.

Carlina Schantz, 33, of Allentown, was charged with summary retail theft after allegedly removing two pairs of earrings valued at $120 from Bon-Ton, 3300 Lehigh St. 4:40 p.m. May 21. She was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Bank of America, 3300 Lehigh St. reported 1:14 a.m. May 22 an unknown actor loosened the night deposit box from the wall.

A woman parked her car at Steinmart, 3300 Lehigh St. 2:07 p.m. May 23 and when she returned to her car, the hood had been pried open and her battery was removed. The battery was valued at $100.

A resident of Sheffield Square Apartments, 1713 S. Albert St., Apt. 16, reported 8 a.m. May 24 an unknown actor entered the vehicle and removed $10 in change and a duffel bag of clothing.

A woman used the valet parking service at Lehigh Valley Health Network - Cedar Crest 5:45 p.m. May 24 and when the car was returned, an unknown actor had gone through her purse in the car and removed $600.

A resident in the 1700 block of Seidersville Road reported 10 a.m. May 24 being in communication with a male from Detroit, Mich. The resident sent the man $1,000 for a stock deal and now the man cannot be reached. Police are investigating.

A resident in the 1800 block of Pinyon Lane reported 9:35 a.m. May 24 an unknown actor was shining a high intensity light in the window.

A resident in the 2700 block of Hampstead Road reported 5:06 p.m. May 24 an unknown actor used the resident’s debit card information and made five unauthorized transactions totaling $1,018.

Eileen Callahan, 23, of Alburtis, was charged with summary disorderly conduct and criminal mischief following an incident at Cedar Crest EmergiCenter, 1101 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. 5:37 p.m. May 25. Callahan allegedly disagreed with the physician about the proposed medications and allegedly destroyed a display in the lobby.
